Answer:

There are various technologies that serve to provide security to homes. To start with physical security measures which prevent/deter attackers from gaining access to the homes, physical barriers and a strong layer of protection are the most common. These include common measures like peepholes to see visitors and allow them, high compound walls, walls with spikes on top of them, and mechanical and electronic access control devices like sirens, physical and electronic security measures.

From the old system of lock and key arrangement, technology has grown a long way in answering the varied requirements of homes, apartments, offices, supermarkets theatres and other commercial establishment. They range from telescreens, eye in the sky cameras, sousveillance measures and surveillance measures like closed circuit television system.

These technologies dissuade the criminals from attacking and carrying out their nefarious acts. So, the criminals are forced to choose victims who are not secure, either in means of physical security or electronic security. Criminals select persons who are not tech-savvy and are prone to attack.

Typically criminals select loners who can be attacked and robbed without attracting any attention. They also tend to carry out their actions at night, at isolated places. With the advent of surveillance by satellite, a time may come where crime is checked even before it is committed.
